Dr. Baas, a native of Wisconsin, graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Biology. He moved to Chicago where he received his doctorate at the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Baas received a number of prestigious awards while at ICO including the Lawrence P. Feigenbaum Scholarship for clinical excellence and the Richard J. O'Brian award for top residential candidate.

Upon graduation he completed a one-year residency at the Illinois Eye Institute (IEI). Dr. Baas is one of about 10% of optometrists who completed an extra year of clinical training. Since completing his residency, Dr. Baas has stayed on at IEI as a Clinical Instructor of Optometry. He recently received his Fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Baas has special interest in sports vision, low vision, and refractive surgery, having had LASIK himself in 2007.

Dr. Tyler a native of North Dakota, graduated from Minnesota State University, Moorhead with a Bachelor's in Science, majoring in Biology.

After undergraduate studies Dr. Tyler moved to Fullerton, California to attend the Southern California College of Optometry. Upon receiving his doctorate he relocated to Chicago and complete a one-year residency at the Illinois Eye Institute (IEI). After completeing his residency, Dr. Tyler has stayed on at IEI as an Assistant Professor. He was also recently promoted to Chief of Urgent Care Services where he oversees roughly 3,500 emergency eye visits per year. Dr. Tyler recently received his fellowship as well.
